MitoQ and Skincare and the Changing Seasons

Summer is always nice. A relaxing read on the balcony, the freshest seafood at the water’s edge or a pleasant chat with friends in the garden... As temperature changes, the air brings the first hint of seasonal change.  It is important to adjust the skincare routine to ease the discomfort of skin in the changing seasons.

Many people find their skin feels dry and even irritated during seasonal change. Therefore, the skincare products used need to be simple and effective. A product that helps to repair, maintain and improve the quality of your skin should be on your list. Having a hypoallergenic formula, the MitoQ® Anti-Aging Skincare Moisturising Serum is dermatologist tested to be safe and suitable for all skin types. It keeps your skin hydrated, evens the skin colour and makes you feel relaxed and enriched. More importantly, ultraviolet light from the sun can cause a rise in damaging free radicals in our skin cells, so addressing this free radical damage is vital to keep skin glowing and looking young.

As we age, our “cellular batteries”, or mitochondria, begin to decline in function. They don’t produce the same amount of energy they used to, and free radical damage begins to accumulate. In the cells of the skin, this can mean a reduction in the amount, or quality, of the structural components such as elastin and collagen. It can also mean delayed healing which can result in increased amounts of scar tissue and discoloration. Reduced cellular function can also mean slower turnover of the skin layers and potentially less resistance to infections and environmental stresses such as the sun. All of this can result in lines and wrinkles appearing, sagging and discoloration of skin and delayed healing. Over years, skin appears aged and can eventually become more prone to serious health conditions.

MitoQ® is the only antioxidant able to specifically target and enter your mitochondria, the energy-producing powerhouses of your cells where over 90% of damaging free radicals are produced. MitoQ® can accumulate inside mitochondria allowing it to neutralize free radicals at the source before they can cause damage the rest of your skin cells.

As the skin is the body’s largest organ, it requires a great deal of energy to support youthful levels of collagen and elastin. It also needs energy to help protect against the visible signs of premature aging caused by oxidative stress, including pollution, environmental stress and sun damage. The results, with breakthrough proprietary MitoQ® is decreased levels of oxidative stress and a beauty transformation where skin feels soft and looks firmer, clear and brighter with a more even skin tone.

MitoQ® is a mitochondria-targeted antioxidant that protects and restores function to mitochondria.  Visit for more information.

I meant AHA in form of a gel, or lotion, or cream that stays on the suafrce of the skin and it dissolve old, flaky skin and also it diminishes brown marks after blemishes. It's a physical exfoliation. When it is put in a cleanser it doesn't have time to work. it can be used once, twice a week or even everyday, it's a matter of preference, I'm using it every other day and it's ok, however everyday is too much. so you need to find out what works best for you

I think all antioxidants-containing seurms should be contained in an opaque bottle to prevent sunlight exposure that will destroy the antioxidants. Also, it's best packaged in a pump bottle or an airless pump mechanism to limit the exposure of antioxidants to air as it will also reduce the quantity and quality of the antioxidants within time. I don't think the Lancome or Estee Lauder is opaque enough to maintain the quality of the antioxidants inside. Just my two cents ^.^
